Since 2006, we started as KITEC Pro Junior Camp, pioneering youth talent development in kiteboarding. We’ve been instrumental in creating a generation of reference riders and champions who are now established stars in the sport. Now, with renewed energy and experience, we return as Pro Junior Kite Academy to elevate young athletes’ training to the next level.

Since he was a child, he grew up combining sport competitions with extreme sports.

Being in cycling where he achieved his greatest achievements both nationally and internationally, including Bike Trial shows and exhibitions, also as a Bike Trial coach for promising young riders.

Product developer for water sports brands, writer and author of the first SUP safety and rescue manual, among other literary works and conferences.

Since 2000 he dedicated his life to Kiteboarding, spending long sessions in the water, defining a personal style, working as an instructor, trainer instructor and as person responsible for logistics and water rescue for national and international Kiteboarding championships.

In 2006 he founded the Kite technical school KITEC Tarifa and from here he began with a pioneering project, the KITEC Pro Junior Camp was born, a school for young talents, having the privilege of creating a generation of champions and mentoring young talents.

In its unstoppable desire to evolve and offer the best, the new stage is ready to begin.

Álvaro Onieva competed for 12 years in the P.K.R.A world circuit, being Airstyle champion in 2014, with two consecutive podiums at the end of the year in Freestyle 2007/2008. He was also European Champion in 2002 and Spanish Champion on three occasions.

He has extensive experience in product development, being the founder of Balance and Clash and Product Manager of wingfoil at Starboard.

He has been a coach of international athletes of the stature of Cohan Van Dijt, Valentin Van Seroetrop and Pippa Van Iersel.

Since 2016, he has been International Judge of the GKA and GWA, and since 2021, Chief Judge in Freestyle, Big Air and Wingfoil Waves.

Currently, he organises events such as Full Power, the Youth World Championship and directs the King of the Air Qualifier in Spain.
